Welcome to Rocket Science
Irvin Science
The Science Department at Irvin High School strives to make Science an interactive and fun experience for all Irvin students. We will work hard to help all students be thinkers and doers of science. Welcome Rockets to Irvin High School Science Department.
Flipped Classroom
We will be working on a flipped classroom model. In a flipped classroom model, you will watch the lecture portion of the unit at home. This will include watching a video or power point or both at home so that when we are in class we can reinforce what you watch through a lab, project , or quiz. It is a mastery style of learning, so you will work at a reasonable pace for your understanding. You still have a time limit, but it is more flexible and allows for differentiated learning. The videos will be posted on the class website and you can watch the videos as much as you need, for greater understanding. You should take notes on the videos, for better understanding on content or for questions that you may have and ask during class. The following is a video to better explain the Flipped Classroom Model.
