These assignments are due on Monday, 2/9/15, but be aware, you may have a quiz on Friday 2/6/15

Ionic vs. Covalent Bonds

You will be writing a compare and contrast paragraph on ionic and covalent bonds.  You must have some sort of graphic organizer to arrange your thoughts.  I have included a Venn Diagram for you but you can use whichever is more comfortable for you.  You will also have to define the following terms before you write your paragraph.  Your paragraph must be 5 or more sentences with an introduction sentence and a conclusion sentence.  I have included two resources for you, but you can use other resources to help you, however you cannot use any ask.com style resources.  They must be creditable.  Please include a link to your resources that you used.  This assignment is due today 2/10/15.

Covalent Bonding

This video goes over Covalent bond, go over the video then answer the questions that follow

Review on Lewis Dot Structures

In case you forgot how to do Luis Dot Structures, this video can work as a reminder.

Assignment on Simple Bonds
For the following Covalent Bond, you will first give me the lewis dot structure for the element, then you will draw the Lewis dot Structure for the bond

1.  Hydrogen + Hydrogen
2.  Hydrogen + Oxygen
3.  Chlorine + Chlorine
4.  Oxygen + Oxygen
5.  Carbon + Oxygen
6. Carbon + Hydrogen

Exam Time

It is exam time, so use this zondle review to help you review for the exam.  The only thing that will be on the exam that is not on the review is to draw the lewis dot structures for the molecules.  Click on the link below.  This will take you to the website for Zondle.  Here you will create a student log in account if you have not already.  After you have created your account or logged into your account you can access the study review covalent bonds exam when you join the class with the class code 33938-82504.  Then have fun studying.  Don't forget, you will have the exam Wednesday, 2/25/15, it will not be a multiple choice exam, so make sure you know your material.
